Migration is a contemporary mixed-media artwork exploring movement, memory, and connection through texture and form. Hand-built relief and delicate mosaic tesserae create an understated composition in soft ivory and natural stone tones. The minimalist palette allows changing light to reveal new details throughout the day, making the piece both calming and quietly dynamic.

I wanted to create a work that rewards slowing down. Rather than demanding attention with bold colour, it invites the viewer to discover quiet details—the subtle shifts in texture, the rhythm of the mosaic fragments, and the way light becomes part of the composition. The flowing lines emerged almost intuitively as I worked, gradually becoming a reflection on journeys: the paths we choose, the ones that choose us, and the connections we leave behind.

Each viewer brings their own story to Migration I. Some see rivers, others landscapes, migration routes, or the traces of memory itself. My hope is that it offers a moment of stillness in an increasingly busy world while adding warmth, texture, and quiet sophistication to a contemporary interior.
